Created in 1935, the qualification "Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France" (MOF) in other words One of the Best Craftsmen in Professional Excellence. This Diploma is bestowed at a competition limited to craftsmen in the trade. Skill and excellence must be prooved by undertaking a masterpiece.
Selection is tough. This competition takes place every 3 years. The organizers "Le comité d'Organisation des Expositions du Travail" (COET) are a Committee of profesionals with individual expertise in the trade who organize state-of-the-art exhibitions.
The imposed subject requires over a year's hard work for its achievement. This masterpiece is then submitted to the jury. The winner is rewarded with the medal at an official ceremony in the Sorbonne amphitheater and then obtains the Diploma "Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France" which is a Diploma of the French Ministry of Education. It entitles one to exhibit this symbol of expertise in professional excellency...
